Membership of the Forum

Can anyone join?

No. Any organisation wanting to join the Forum must first write to the Secretary who will place the request before the Executive for a decision.

Who runs the NPF?

The Forum itself is the principal decision making body, with agreed terms of reference and a Business plan for 2008-2011 and an annual work programme. At a strategic level the Forum is directed by the Executive and the day to day work undertaken by the Secretary.

This is a current list of Forum Members.

Membership

Members are drawn from five sectors: government and its agencies, local government, business, the voluntary/third sector and the professions.

Representative organisations with an interest and involvement in planning within these sectors are invited to join the Forum to contribute to its work, in order to maintain broadly equal numbers, and balance between the sectors.

Executive Board

The NPF Executive Board - which drives the work of the Forum - comprises 5

Vice-Chairmen, each directly elected by members of his/her own sector, and is supported

by the Secretary.  One of the Vice-Chairmen acts as the Forum Chairman, on a rotational basis amongst the five sector groups.

The current Executive Board (as at January 2010) comprises:

NPF Chair, NPF Vice-Chair (Local Government) and LGA
Mike Haines
Vice-Chairman (Government Agencies) and RDAs Network
Geoffrey Brown
Vice Chairman (3rd sector) & Heritage Link
Dave Chetwyn
Vice Chairman (Professions) & Associate of Architects
Brian Waters
NPF Vice-Chair (Business) and British Property Federation
Liz Peace
